Target Sprint

Magyar Sportlövők Szövetsége · Rifle

History

Combination of running and shooting (air rifle).

Target Sprint is a modern, exciting sport combining running and shooting. The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) introduced it in 2013 with the goal of developing it to Olympic level.

The sport's rules are based on biathlon, but uses air rifles instead of firearms, making it more accessible. Competitors don't carry the rifle while running – it stays at the shooting stations.

In Hungary, the discipline is actively promoted, especially among younger generations seeking more dynamic challenges than traditional target shooting.
